Beginner Art Classes

In this engaging art project, students will create a starfish on canvas using a scratch technique, called sgraffito, that adds intricate details to the body of the starfish. The activity starts with painting the canvas using acrylic paints, focusing on the application of thick layers of paint. This method is essential for the sgraffito technique, where students will use tools to etch into the thickly applied paint, revealing layers of colors beneath to create dynamic textures and patterns. Art Lessons perfect for ages 4-6 years. 1-hour class We will use a variety of media, including watercolor, acrylic & tempera paints, oil pastels, mixed media, and clay for our beginner classes throughout the school-year!
