The Art of Stories: A Literary Adventure in the Metropolitan Museum of Art We’re all storytellers, and we live in a world of stories. All our interactive museum tours are inspired by stories, and we’re pleased to present our newest tour, a story…about stories themselves. “The Art of Stories” looks at tales of the Met, backstories of the works of art, narratives set in the museum, and the origin of stories themselves, seen through the perspective of works of art. From myths to fairy tales, fables to epic quests, the tour will transport participants to a cave full of treasure and heroes on daring quests, a sword in a stone and a girl who loses her shoe. We’ll see how stories can take us to other worlds, shift our viewpoint of the world we’re in….and sometimes literally save someone’s life. Recommended for ages 12 and up

You to be immersed in the beautiful world of batik that many say is meditative. You will explore Batik art with a Malaysian Artist and paint a pre-designed Batik handkerchief on 100% cotton fabric. In the program, we will study all the features of working with epoxy resin and paints. Let's talk about composition, analyze the color combinations and pick up your favorite ranges together, master the techniques, techniques and effects of epoxy painting. Everyone will take their unique work with them (after drying 24 hours) all materials are provided. Good mood and festive atmosphere are guaranteed! We use only use non-toxic epoxy (when used as directed) that is not bad for your health like other resins. No VOCs. No fumes. No solvents. Non-flammable. Non-hazardous. Conforms to ASTM D4236 (Safe for Home Use when used in a well ventilated area). The workshop lasts for about 1 and half hour.

I worked in 2 World Trade Center and have a unique understanding of how the buildings were constructed and what it was like to work there. Many of the pieces of art that you'll see are museum worthy and fun to look at, but most people just walk by them and don't notice them at all. We'll go through the newly created Fulton Mall transportation center and you'll see how New Yorkers navigate the complex network of subways that made lower Manhattan the financial capital of the world!
