The Middle School Digital Animation class at The Atelier School of Art is a one-hour session for ages 11-13, focusing on expanding animation skills using iPads and Procreate Dreams. Students dive into keyframe animation, character design, storyboarding, and visual storytelling, exploring how to create compelling animations from start to finish. This class nurtures creativity and technical skills, preparing students for more advanced animation techniques and projects.

Once a month CHS stays open after dark for a relaxed, social evening of art, pizza, and friends — while grown-ups get a night of their own! This month artists will learn 4 different painting techniques mixed to create one wonderful radial composition. Our first layer is an exploration of watercolor, blending wet on wet and creating pattern. We'll eat pizza while it dries. Then we'll jump in with tempera learning to create texture and add details with an opaque layer. We'll wind down with art films before the night ends at 8:45. Mixed ages 5–10. Little ones get more help and big kids get more room to run with it. This one isn't from our regular class curriculum — weekly students won't be repeating anything they've done. Fall Semester Session One (August-October) This fun class is for students who have taken cartooning and animation and are ready to build on a foundation of a variety of art skills. The joy of drawing cartoons provides a vehicle for also learning drawing basics. This is a digital drawing class. This is an ongoing course that provides new projects each week to challenge and guide your child's artistic abilities. Each student receives individual attention to emphasis their natural strengths and help in areas they need to improve. Classes are limited in size, so sign your child up today!

Come create together with your favorite young artist and celebrate fall the Corner House way: with paint, paper, and a pumpkin to reimagine. In this 90-minute drop-in workshop, each registered artist receives a blank paper maché pumpkin and full creative license to make it their own. Our studio will be stocked with paint, collage papers, ribbons, and embellishments, plus plenty of inspiration to spark new directions. Artists can go spooky or sweet, modern or classic, even give it a face and turn your piece into a Jack O'Lantern. Unlike the real thing, a paper maché pumpkin never rots, so what you make becomes a keepsake to bring out season after season.
