Created by a professional performer turned early childhood development specialist, Broadway & Me's unique curriculum is both entertaining and developmentally appropriate. Are you ready to ROCK?! Learn the basic techniques of dance and how to move to the beat. We promote a healthy lifestyle through fun, physical activity that encourages self expression through music and movement. Dance improvisation games are played to encourage expression and creativity. A Rockin’ performance with costumes will be held at the end of the session for family and friends! Dancers will get to keep their show t-shirt! New shirt design each session. This 6 class session will begin with hand-building techniques to provide a better understanding of the ceramic medium before working on the pottery wheel. Artists will learn about the full ceramic process from creating their own ceramic pieces, the firing process, as well as glazing. Students will learn how to use ceramic tools and equipment from needle tools and ribs to slab rollers, extruders and electric wheels. Artists who have taken this course with us will be able to continue building on their skills and knowledge with different projects that we demonstrate, as well as learning how to develop their own ideas and projects with the teacher's guidance. The class is 2 hours once per week for 6 weeks. The registration fee includes clay, use of tools and supplies. Please note that we are unable to offer make-up classes, nor a pro-rate for future missed classes. Once the session is over you will receive an email notice that the ceramic pieces have completed their glaze firing and are ready for pick up. This typically takes a week or two after the session wraps up.

This teen art class is designed for teens who are ready to begin exploring their creative potential and how to start developing their own artistic voice. Students will be introduced to, and encouraged to explore, a variety of mediums—including drawing, painting, ceramics, printmaking, mixed media, and collage—while receiving personalized guidance from an experienced instructor. Whether they're interested in building their technical skills or discovering thier own unique style, this class offers the freedom to experiment and create at your own pace. New teen students will complete three pre-designed projects with their teacher's guidance to help aid them in learning how to set-up/clean-up supplies and materials, get a feel for what mediums are available, and allow teachers to get a feel for the student's level of skill and art knowledge. What They’ll Learn: Medium Exploration: Gain hands-on experience with a wide range of art forms, including pencil and charcoal drawing, acrylic and watercolor painting, clay sculpture, printmaking, and collage techniques. Project Development: Learn how to conceptualize, plan, and execute your own independent projects. With teacher support, they’ll refine your ideas and bring them to life. Creative Techniques: Develop new skills in various artistic techniques, from layering and texture in mixed media to the technical aspects of ceramics and printmaking. Self-Expression: Find their own voice and style as they experiment with different materials and approaches to art-making. Our Advanced Art Class is perfect for children ages 9–14 who are ready to work more independently while still benefiting from the guidance and support of a teacher. It's all about opposites! Loud and quiet, fast and slow, up and down! Contrasting "themes" means your child is learning better ways to communicate. Explore the different equipment pieces each week to build problem solving, navigating skills and confidence.

Our most popular class! This is for all children to attend together, not just siblings. It is recommended for children who are mobile to 5 years old. Multi-aged children get to experience and learn diverse social skills like leadership and peer modeling. There is a new fun theme every week! All children may participate in guided activities and end class with bubbles and parachute time.

Our Pottery Classes at The Atelier School of Art provide a hands-on experience in clay sculpting and ceramics, tailored to different age groups and skill levels. Younger students (ages 6 and up) will focus on basic hand-building techniques such as pinch pots, coiling, and slab construction, helping them develop foundational skills in working with clay. Older students will have the opportunity to explore more advanced techniques, including wheel-throwing, glazing, and surface decoration. With guidance from experienced instructors, students will create unique, functional, and decorative pieces while learning about form, texture, and craftsmanship. Whether learning the basics or refining their technique, students in our pottery program will gain confidence, creativity, and an appreciation for the art of ceramics in a fun and supportive environment!

*Mid-session registration: If you are signing up AFTER THE FIRST DAY OF THIS SERIES OF 9 CLASSES, email info@marvegos.com about a possible project conflict before you arrive for class.* Our school year curriculum for age 12 and up emphasizes personal responsibility and self-directed art-making under the guidance of the instructor. Individual goals are established and records of progress kept. A sketchbook is required for this class. This program does not require students to have prior art-making experience. Students new to ADEX are required to complete 3-4 prerequisite projects that introduce new mediums and the fundamentals of composition, color, and form. These projects also serve to familiarize students with the studio’s layout, proper setup and cleanup procedures, as well as essential steps in project planning. These prerequisites are completed at the students’ pace and typically take at least one session to complete.

Once a week, kids will experience a mini-version of our legendary Hi-Five Sports Camp, which has been a favorite for over 30 years. Under the guidance of experienced and enthusiastic coaches, children will build skills, confidence, and friendships while learning the fundamentals of a variety of sports. Who is it for?: Our Teen Parkour Teams are focused on rigorous parkour and games in a fun and inclusive environment. We create a safe and challenging place for kids who are serious about parkour to practice and have fun with their friends and coaches. We focus on challenging our athletes to grow and succeed in parkour, movement, and life. This team is open to all genders. What do we do on this team?: This team is for the teen parkour student who wants to get better at parkour and have fun doing it. Students play games, complete obstacle courses, practice tricks and skills, goof with friends, and learn how to deal with the stresses of daily life. When is this team offered?: This team practices on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-7:30pm with an Open Gym on Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30. This schedule is designed to give athletes time for deep practice, open ended exploration and play, as well as coach led instruction. Longer practice times and multiple day attendance allows for better learning outcomes and more relaxed learning environments. Outdoor practice will be offered once a week, weather and daylight permitting. Field trips, team building activities, and adventures are also part of your teen’s experience! Details coming in August.
